experience eating locally (nothing outside a 250 mile radius of her
Prospect Park home, in fact).
October: Ryan 'Leo' Goldsmith of
WWOOF-USA (World Wide
Opportunities on Organic Farms) and Rebecca Bullene, experienced
organic farm volunteer, taught us how to spend anywhere from 3 days
to 3 months (or more) working on an organic farm in exchange for
food and accommodation.

Solar Powered Film Fest 2008 :
The Solar-Powered Film Series is the first in New York City to use
the power of the sun to construct an outdoor “eco-theater” like no
other. This free six-evening program featured nightly screenings of
environmental documentaries. Each night focused on a different
theme including water, energy, food, waste and more. Some films
screened this year included "City of Water," "Garbage Warrior,"
"The Greening of Southie," "Burning the Future," and "The Future of
Food."
